Day 4 of E3: Nintendo Direct

After a somewhat boring day 3 of E3, hopefully Nintendo can pull us through on the final day with some epic announcements and, hopefully, some new information surrounding their most anticipated release: Breath of the Wild 2!

A New Challenger Approaches!

Kazuya, a long-time fighter in the Tekken series, is soon coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch! Like the other characters, he will be priced at $5.99 for the character, a stage, and a music selection, and will be made available soon in the second Fighter Pass. Masahiro Sakurai, creator of the series, will showcase the fighter on June 28th at 10:00 AM EST.

Life is Strange

Life is Strange: Remastered Collection and Life is Strange: True Colors, announced at Square Enix’s showcase for other consoles, will also release on Nintendo Switch! True Colors will launch on Switch on September 10th, but the Remastered Collection has no release date yet, releasing “later this year.”

Mario Party Super Stars

An all new Mario Party game, celebrating the past entries in the series, is releasing on the Nintendo Switch this year. It features many game modes from games past, and 5 boards from the Nintendo 64 era of Mario Party. Every single mode in this new title will feature seamless online play, something Mario Party fans have wanted for some time, and releases on October 29th.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Also announced at Square Enix’s E3 showcase, the all-new Guardians of the galaxy game will also launch on Nintendo Switch on the same day as the other consoles, October 26th, 2021!

New Metroid Game

A mysterious new title in the Metroid series, simply titled “Metroid: Dread,” is going to release on the Nintendo Switch soon. Gameplay looks much like the original two Metroid games, featuring Samus running and jumping through an alien universe, 2D platformer-style. This time, however, Samus will be constantly pursued throughout her adventure by a super-scary, robotic figure known as the E.M.M.I. Truly, the dark vibe the game gives off paired with its Nemesis-like villain makes this Metroid game fitting of its title. The game will release on October 8th, 2021.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, a story-driven RPG Dragon Ball experience set in the 4 sagas of the DBZ franchise, launches September 24th for the Switch. While it launched quite some time ago for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, the game is simply great fun in the Dragon Ball universe and will certainly be appreciated in handheld mode on Switch consoles.

Mario Golf Super Rush

Mario Golf is receiving yet another sequel, this time on the Nintendo Switch. Featuring frantic golf gameplay and pedal-to-the-metal racing down the fairway to sink your ball first, Mario Golf Super Rush launches on the Switch on June 25th, 2021.

Wario-Ware

Wario-Ware, a famous Nintendo series that hasn’t received a new title in quite some time, is finally getting a new title on the Nintendo Switch. Featuring two-player, frantic mini-game play, “Wario-Ware: Get It Together” launches September 10th, 2021.

Shin Megami Tensei V

Set in an alternate, demon-infested version of Tokyo, Shin Megami Tensei V features turned-based combat similar to previous titles and the Persona franchise. Players will be able capture and befriend demons to make powerful allies. The game launches November 12th, 2021 on Nintendo Switch.

Fatal Frame!?

The Fatal Frame series is finally returning on the Nintendo Switch! A legendary survival-horror series that used to frequent the PlayStation, it hasn’t received a sequel in quite some time. Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water was originally released on the Wii U in 2014, and, as a huge fan of the survival-horror genre, I cannot wait for this game to relaunch later this year!

The Legend of Zelda Game and Watch

Eiji Aonuma announced that, although Nintendo has no other Legend of Zelda games planned in the near future, they have put together something special for fans to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the series: a Game and Watch machine that plays the first four games of the Zelda Series. It will release on November 12th, but the price has yet to be announced.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

Finally, Nintendo has released new footage of the latest installment in the Legend of Zelda franchise, Breath of the Wild 2. Featuring similar but in some ways drastically changed gameplay, Link appears to now be able to go through walls and floors, and the world has expanded to the skies above Hyrule. The game will launch sometime in 2022.

Nintendo’s E3 presentation was exactly what I’d hoped for, featuring huge announcements and triumphant returns of old series like Fatal Frame and Wario-Ware. What did you think of the show? Leave a like if you enjoyed this article and stay tuned to the site for news on Bandai Namco’s showcase later today!
